How did I treat my daughter’s tonsilitis?

Tonsillitis-cancerTonsillitis is an infection of the tonsils, two masses of tissue on either side of the back of the throat. It is caused by either virus or bacteria and causes fever, pain, difficult swallowing and headache.  It can be very uncomfortable and lasts for days.

To treat the infection of her tonsil, along with antibiotics, I used a combination of folk remedies, based on Traditional Chinese Medicine, Ayurvedic medicine and herbs.

My mother always loves to cook and make special tea and soup every time we get sick. I grew up with the understanding that home remedy is your first attempt to treat any common illness, which makes a visit to the doctors a special trip. It also complements the the conventional medicine side effects of antibiotics and other anti inflammatory medications.

My daughter has always been very healthy throughout her childhood and rarely got sick, however, as the teenager years approached she became more vulnerable to food and other environmental toxins. Her tonsils seemed to be the most affected specially because it was enlarged since birth. Although, she had this beautiful powerful voice and a tremendous ability to project herself, her tonsils  would get imbalanced and she would loose her voice whenever she was under pressure and emotionally stressed.

My approach was to get her calm and focused on her breath. Since it was hard to inhale she was breathing fast with the mouth opened causing dry lips and sore throat.

Within 7 days the inflammation was reduced, she recovered her voice, the swelling of the lymph nodes reduced and she regain her energy back.
